About This Coach

Before coaching the Crimson Tide to two perfect regular seasons in his first three years at Alabama, West Virginia native Nick Saban led programs at Louisiana State, Michigan State and University of Toledo. A former NFL coach and 2008 Division IA Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award winner, Saban earned an undergraduate degree in business and a master’s in sports administration from Kent State. Also a writer, Saban co-authored a book in 2001 documenting his first two years as LSU coach and a self-help book in 2005.
