About This Coach

Mack Brown’s coaching career spans 37 years, including 26 years as head coach at University of Texas, University of North Carolina, Tulane University and Appalachian State. Brown’s resume includes coaching his teams to 18 consecutive bowl games, including a Division IA National Championship with Texas in 2005. Born in Tennessee Brown graduated from Florida State with a degree in education and earned a master’s in administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. Brown joined the Longhorns as head coach in 1997.
