About This Coach

Coach Broyles began his football career as a standout lineman on his eight-man Mulberry, Kan., high school team. He continued his playing career at PSU before going on to coach high school and college programs around the Midwest. He returned to his alma mater as head coach in 1989, steering the Gorillas to 14 playoffs and the 1991 NCAA Division II National Championship. Since 1996, Broyles has also served as PSU’s athletic director. And, from 2004-06, he chaired the NCAA Football Rules Committee.
